Actually the Pyramids were not constructed by slaves. They were constructed by aritsians, and craftsman. Keep in mind that the these people were not motivated by banal considerations such as money and economics. I believe that most of your questions can be answered at the URL provided.

You ask good questions. Stay curious, it's a good thing to be.

The shape of Egyptian pyramids is thought to represent the primordial mound from which the Egyptians believed the earth was created. The shape is also thought to be representative of the descending rays of the sun, and most pyramids were faced with polished, highly reflective white limestone, in order to give them a brilliant appearance when viewed from a distance. Pyramids were often also named in ways that made reference to solar luminescence. For example, the formal name of the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur was The Southern Shining Pyramid, and that of Senwosret at el-Lahun was Senwosret is Shining.

While it is generally agreed that pyramids were burial monuments, there is continued disagreement on the particular theological principles that might have given rise to them. One theory that has gained a degree of acceptance is that they were designed as a type of "resurrection machine";[8] the Egyptians believed the dark area of the night sky around which the stars appear to revolve was the physical gateway into the heavens, and co-incidentally, one of the narrow shafts that extends from the main burial chamber through the entire body of the Great Pyramid points directly towards the centre of this part of the sky. This suggests the pyramid may have been designed to serve as a means to magically launch the deceased pharaoh's soul directly into the abode of the gods.

All Egyptian pyramids were built, without exception, on the west bank [9] of the Nile, which as the site of the setting sun was associated with the realm of the dead in Egyptian mythology.

The techniques used to construct Egypt's pyramids are thought to have initially been developed by trial and error[7], and then further evolved based on local economics, resources, and other considerations, over the thousand year pyramid-building phase of Egyptian civilization.

Recently-discovered worker's tombs have shown how pyramids were made and how important workers were: the pyramid workers were paid craftsmen, not slaves, and they had their own city at Giza.

During the earliest period, in the Third and Fourth Dynasties, pyramids were constructed wholly of stone. In the Fifth Dynasty the physical scale of pyramids was much reduced, and poor quality limestone replaced granite as the chief building material. In–filling with loose rubble was also used for the first time. This enabled pyramids to be built with fewer resources over much shorter periods.

During the Middle Kingdom pyramid construction techniques changed again. Most pyramids built at this time were little more than mountains of mud brick encased in a veneer of polished limestone. In several cases, later pyramids were built on top of natural hills to further reduce the volume of material needed in their construction.

Paradoxically, the materials and methods of construction used in the earliest pyramids have ensured their survival in a generally much better state of preservation than is the case with the pyramid monuments of later pharaohs.

If you want to make a big pile of rocks or dirt, and you have no girders or modern technology, you come up with a pyramid--either round or square. Some have stepped sides and some flat. But basically it's because that's the only way you can make something really big with lo-tech.

As far as the square shape, that's easy to make. And the correlation with Pi comes because they used rollers to measure everything. This doesn't mean that they aren't a huge achievement.

We have skyscrapers now. We don't need to build pyramids anymore. But if you want to see a modern one, go to Las Vegas and look at the Luxor.

The Great Pyramid in Egypt was once covered with white limestone. I have a little piece of white limestone from a different Egyptian pyramid and it's got lots of quartz in it, so it would have really sparkled and shone in the sun.

The theory is that the 3 pyramids in Egypt do in fact represent Orion's belt. Robert Bauval first put this forward in _The Orion Theory_.

If you read _Fingerprints of the Gods_ by Graham Hancock, he's got some other theories on the pyramids.

The Egyptians used a different sort of math and technology than we do now. All of it was more "natural" based, probably derived from the old Atlantean knowledge. Humans they were, but very enlightened. Most of the ancient libraries have been burnt, so we lost that knwoledge. At the time, even math was considered a form of magic, with good justification.

And it had to be Egypt, because this country happened to be closer to the remnants of Atlantean exhiles, very fertile, supported by a great river.

Trianguls shape, because it has a certain mystical significance. This shape seems to possess many properties that other shapes lack. The property of healling, strength, and even fertility. I discovered that my own miniature pyramid served as a kind of natural viagra. I could go for the whole hour. And some authors noticed pyramid has the property of preservation. Whatever you put in there, even spoiled milk, retains the good quality for a while. One guuy even made a patent for shaving. His blades, that were using the proporties of the pyramid, never had to be sharpened. "Never" is relative, but it was for a long time.

Also, the fact that the pyramids were raised in praticularly beneficial location. Many more interesting things to say about it, but you could probably find some articles and even books. I recommend Pyramid Power

There is no one interested in building such a structure today, even though it could be done, of course. It would be very expensive, and we would have no use for them today. There may come a time, however, when we build cities or housing in such a way, because of just what you said about catching the sun. Imagine a huge hollow pyramid shape, with housing all along the outside surface, catching the sun, and the interior a perfect climate-controlled space for commerce and recreation. There could be glass blocks to let some of the light through to the interior, or even make the whole top of glass or other transparent material.

Somebody write me a science fiction story for this vision!

Do you big as in mass or big as in a single dimension (or possibly two)? There is the transcontinental railroad in America that would have freaked the Egyptians out, and let us not forget the Trans-Siberian railroad either. Mt. Rushmore, while note as large as the pyramids, is definitely more details and difficult. Of course, the best monument that can withstand the same test of time that the pyramids have isn't even on earth, nor is it very big. It is a little flag, planted in the Sea of Tranquility on the moon. Take THAT Ancient Egypt!

We have built many buildings which would dwarf the great pyramid of Khufu. The Empire State Building has a similar footprint and is many times higher. As for the other questions, they were built as tombs for the pharaohs, by slaves from conquered lands. They were originally finished with white limestone which reflected the sun, and the triangular shape represents the bridge to the sun, because dead pharoahs went to live with Ra, the sun god, while ordinary people went to Osiris in the land of the dead.

The towering sky scrapers and structures of the like or much more of an architectural advancement than the pyrimids. Do you really think the egyptians could have designed some of the huge and beautiful buildings in our large cities? I highly doubt they could. We don't build pyrimids because they are an old, useless technology. Our builings now have purpose and beauty and are put together with precision that the egyptians could only dream of. Put simply, are buildings are more of an accomplishment than the pyrimids, and there also more usefull.

surely the Egyptians did not exist until eventually centuries after the flood. Such calculations of their latest before than the flood is inaccurate. The Egyptian custom got here into life considering between about 2100 to 2000 BC. also, the Bible does no longer exhibit the date of the actually creation of the universe nor of the earth. The 6 days were of the time that God made or prepared the planet earth for human habitation, no longer of its creation.

they where triangular in shape cause i heard that this kind of shape tend to reserve its content(if u put food inside a triangular shape it will be more saved than other) ,it was in Egypt at that time coz it was a civilized country at that time, i don't know about the light, but there is a template in Egypt that there is a hole, the sun goes in that hole only once a year(in the birthday of the king's temple) and i think it reflects on his statue or something like that(they where so concerned in the stars and that stuff),but it is true.they where build by so many labors for so many years for many reasons,i don't remember most of them but one to be a grave foe the king and queen and their treasure and sometimes their slaves with them(old Egyptian believed in rebirth so they make great things),BTW the three where build by different kings

We have built something large than the pyramids...it's called the national debt.
