The happiest people I know strive for meaning in their lives. The stuff can be nice but it is the relationships that are important.

Do you believe in an afterlife? Getting ready for it is what this life is all about. Otherwise, I would say that life is about what it is worth to you. I agree that stuff doesn't matter except as you can use it to form relationships and help others. Of course you will use stuff to make your life possible by sustaining you and to make life more pleasant by providing aesthetic beauty and by stimulating the production of endorphins in one way or another.

I think must try to find a purpose in life. Not striving for the sake of striving. Somehow it is very much like Maslow's hierachy of need. So there is a hierachy of purpose. First for survival, enrichment in our lives and to helping other to achieve in their lives. Should go in sequence like. If one for example is rich, should try to enrich his or her live. Learn something, try something, achieve something to pass on to the next generation. To perpetuate man kind. It is quite a natural progress, as it is naturally for us to be bored with ourselves, feel lost unless we try to enrich ourselves or help others then we see a purpose and a reason for striving on

how right you are...I'm wondering about this question too...we work to accumulate worldly stuff which don't matter in the end and we cant take with us when we die anyhow. My answer to your question, what is life about, i'd say its not about what you can take out of life but what you can give. Giving is what makes life meaningful. Give back to mother earth by planting a tree, take care of the animals, create a poem...

Life isn't about material goods. He who dies with the most toys- dies.

Life is about family, friends, and love. Faith, too.

Maybe it's to seem rather than to be- maybe the struggles have the appearance of not mattering, but things are not always the way they seem.

I heard someone say something that fits this question to a

"T": .."I never saw a U-Haul truck following a funeral procession..." The meaning of this: YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU! They are just things. simple as that. don't become too

attatched to things, or spend your entire life trying to amass as many things as you can. Look for the more precious things in life to have.
