Do all women who have been pregnant/given birth think they are experts?

I am in the medical field, and some of the "advice" given in response to questions truly scares me. Some of it is dead wrong. Or are we experts just because we have provided room and board to a fetus for 9 months?

Anecdotal evidence and personal stories are appropraite and helpful as long as they are clearly presented as such. I think we only run into problems where people label their personal experiences and opinions as medical fact.

Pregnancy and motherhood bond women together across all generations, nationalities and classes. In some ways this is a good thing because it is encouraging to know that you aren't alone but on the other hand it encourages the promotion of old wives tales, horror stories, etc.

I guess the bottom line is: even if a clear medical reference source and link is given with any particular answer, the asker should always confirm whatever advice they receive with their health care provider.

"lacking" basically one pill like that- the place you took it purely a three-4 hours previous due should not be a project. If it have been me, i might use a condom for 2 weeks because of the fact i won't get pregnant top now yet i'm basically large careful. that's perhaps overkill and you're probably advantageous on account which you purely at the back of schedule the pill some hours. yet for destiny reference- pulling out isn't a good technique of beginning administration because of the fact the pre-ejaculation fluid can incorporate some sperm too. If uncertain do no longer do it or use a condom.

No, we all do not. I learn something new everyday about being a mom. I think it's like an initiation or something; kind of like Welcome to the club. You will always run into people who think they know more than you. I say pick your battles and don't sweat the small stuff (That's what I have learned over the last 10 years of being a mom of 2 boys).

    Good Luck:)

I've got one child. When I was pregnant people took great delight in saying "I don't want to scare you but......" then tell me horror stories about their experience and what to do to avoid it! When pregnant women ask me for advice I just tell them to go with the flow, no two pregancies/births are the same.
