Why do I look so much like a kid? It's so annoying.?

I am the same way, I am 27 and am perceived as 18 or less unless I grow facial hair.

In the recent book "Smashed," the author seems to think that medical studies showed that drinking stunted her growth. I think it's b.s. though. The people that look old for their actual age tend to drink and smoke a lot. Having a more stressful life will help to you to grow more grey/white hair and age. If you were a guy and could grow a beard like me, I would recommend growing a beard. I look young if I shave, but people thought I was a prof when I was 19 and grew a full beard at college!

Also, do you dress like a kid?? Maybe if you dress like Margaret Thatcher, people will have to think about where some kid would be dressing like that!

Your looks can be younger than you really are. That is a good thing because many people who are 29 have wrinkles on their skin already.

Another thing is that if others think that you look like a kid, it doesn't mean you are a kid. If they are very much older than you, they will always feel you are very young even if you are 50 or 60, especially your parents because they are so much older than you.

People can say you are old or young. That is depending on their opinion. But the truth is if you feel you are young, then you are. If you feel you are old, then you are.

Try to dress age appropriately. Don't shop in stores where 12-16 year olds may shop. Pay attention to run-way fashions targeted at women of your age group. Take yourself to a make-up counter for a make-over they may be able to give you some tips on age-appropriate make-up. Steer clear of counters like MAC and Dior who are really aiming their make-up at younger buyers now. Try Clinque or Clarions, etc. That and it seems like to me you are accepting being seen as 12-16, because u expect people to see you that way. Try being over-confident about your age! When people say "oh you look 16" be like "wow no one has ever told me that before--thank you". Blow it off, act like they're weird because they suck at gaging your age.

On the other hand, I can understand your pain... no one seems to take you seriously, right? Try perming your hair, or wearing more makeup (more dramatic eye makeup for example). I know of girl friends who did that and were happy with the results.

Everyone tells me I look younger which really sucks in some ways.. but will also be good when I'm 40 or 50 so I will enjoy it then.. So don't worry about it...

I get the same thing. I'm short and petite and people think I'm younger than I am, and I getting treated as such because of it.

Just try to dress more age appropriate, and be more assertive and demand the respect you deserve.

You will love it when your 40. I don't know I look young too and that's just the way it is. Your looks come from your parents and God so you choose who to be mad at.

Enjoy it when you can! As you grow older you wish you were younger! Now you have a chance to look younger, so look it! I am sure that your looks attracts more than repel!
