Any idea's on how to help my 9 year old son settle down in school?

Up until this year, he has been a straight A student, teachers always love him, say he is a pleasure to have in class, etc..We just got back his ISTAT scores from last year he is in the 97 percentile range in reading and 81 percentile in math nationaly.He came just a few points shy on the Otis Lennon test he took last year of making it into the gifted program at school.

This year it is completely the opposite, he isn't completing assignments on time, he is getting up out of his seat in class, fidgeting, and back talking. He even got up on the radiator and jumped off of it! He's teacher is ready to strangle him, his grades are falling (still well above average), and he is being disrespectful to classmates and teachers. Of course he is punished for this behavior, and he seems genuinly upset about his behavior when we discuss it with him, but it still continues.

Any suggestions?

I see so many young teens on here afraid thier pregnant, or asking riddiculous questions about sex. I'm curious as to when these young people are becomming sexualy active, and if it is in fact younger than generations before them. Please list your current age if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'll begin. I was 15 when I lost my virginity, I was in a 'relationship' with a nice boy, so it wasn't a bad experince for me. I don't exactly regret it, but it probably would have been better, had I waited. I am 26 now.

In my opinion girls under 16 years of age, have no buisness wearing sexy clothing, or revealing clothing. Clothes that are meant to show off your body in a sexual way, are going to do just that, and a child has no buisness dressing in that way. You might as well hang a sign on the girl that says : Attention all perverts, rapist, and child molestors, here I am. I'm not saying young girls should have to cover up completely, but lets use some common sense and moderation shall we?

Why don't people explain to these teenaged girls before they go out and have sex, not only all of the usual info about sex and birth control, but the fact that thier teenage bodies aren't yet devoloped correctly for sex to even be as enjoyable as it should be for them. Sex for teenage girls really isn't that great. It can be painful on top of it, hardly seems worth all the risk.

If you could change one thing, it could be anything, about your life today, what would you chose to change, and why?

Do you plan to donate organs when you die? Do you have any specifications about wich organs? Explain.

Do you see yourself with your current spouse, boyfriend, or girlfrined for te rest of your life? Why or Why not?

Don't know about you, but I get kind of tierd of sorting through 'teen topics'. And I'm sure teens really get bored with some of the adult questions. What do you think?

Does anyone have personal or professional experince with this condition? My daughter may have it, and I would love to know what kinds of things to expect, what might happen, any information really. She has an appointment with a Rheumatologist in June.

My daughter recently complained about her fingers hurting, she woke up with a swollen thumb and ring finger. I took her to the doctor, he said she probably bruised her wrist and to give her advil, come back if it wasn't better in a few days. So today, 4 days later, she still has some very minor swelling and pain in her fingers, and on top of that her leg now hurts and her knee is badly swollen. No discoloration, doesn't dfeel warm or cool to the touch. The pain isn't bad, she hasn't been crying, just say's that it hurts and is bothering her. I have already scheduled her a doctors appointment for Monday.

But what could it be? I'm going to be worring all weekend. Any symptoms to look for I may have missed?
