Patriots do you think liberals hurt or help this country?

Well, I consider myself moderate- leaning conservative, but I don't think there's a problem with having the liberal point of view. There's nothing wrong with being conservative or liberal, but no matter where you are on the spectrum, there is something wrong with intolerance toward another person's point of view.

I will agree that there are some on both sides that are an embarrassment both to their ideologies, as well as the United States. But remember that single events (such as Jane Fonda's trip to Hanoi during the Vietnam War) may not be characteristic of all people holding that point of view.

I would like to close with two of my favorite quotes regarding differing ideologies:

1. I may not agree with what you have to say, but I would fight to the death for your right to say it.

2. Just because we don't see eye to eye doesn't mean we can't stand side by side.

Well if you think that by having your own beliefs on the way things should be run and handled in the country is a bad thing then you should probably move to China or the Congo or even North Korea where the government only lets "Patriots" remain alive. What kind of of country would this be if people didn't look at all sides of everything? There is nothing better about being Liberal than there is about being Conservative. They are both labels that limit the people who take them up. Try thinking for yourself and not listening to what people tell you you should be because one veiw point. I am pro choice, pro death penalty, anti war in iraq, pro finding Osama (what ever happened to getting the guy who orcestrated the murder of 5000 people), most of all I am pro freedom of speech. With out that no one could even be a Patriot, we would all just be slaves.

True liberalism, no. But whats labeled as such these days is nothing but a conglomeration repackaged communism and people who want to legitimize their twisted lifestyles. That's whats rotting our country from the inside.

You seem to think that liberals aren't patriots, and that being a patriot is automatically a virtue. Why is that? Do you remember where patriotism led Germany in 1933? (yes, yes, Godwin's law, I know) Fight for your values, but don't forget to recognisethose who fight for the same ones through different means.
