Why the heck...?

do people ask medical questions on here? I know a lot of people are just asking questions to goof around but gawd isn't it common sense that if something is out of the oridinary you should talk to a medical professional?!

Update:

I'm not talking about foot fungus or warts, nothing so simple. I'm talking about these people with pain during pregnancy, unusual bleeding, something a bit more serious than fungus.

No, you are wrong there are a lot of things that can be treated at home without visiting a physician. Sometimes doctors speak too technically and patients misunderstand and need clarification or are too intimidated/afraid to ask.

You don't really need to see a doctor for Athelete's Foot or ringworm and laypeople may not know exactly what to purchase to treat it. Never mind the fact that some people don't have insurance or the money to visit a doctor every single time something is wrong.
