Could someone please give me an idea for a birthday gift for my mom?
No jewelry pls. She has expensive taste and I'm broke. I would like to spend about $80 - $90 dollars. Tired of buying her clothes just need a few fresh ideas. I'm not sure what she needs because we live in different states.
I think the spa idea is a good idea but she just moved to another state. She doesn't have a favorite salon that she goes to and I dont know of a spa where she could go. I also can't visit her just yet because I just got a new job and I won't get my vacation until after 90 days.
I love the portraits idea and actually thought about it first but I dont have enough time. I will consider it for Mothers Day.

Get your brothers and sister together, granted you are not an only child, and have portraits made. I get together with my family each year and have pictures taken of all of us and my Mom loves it! If you want to do something really nice for her you could make a scrapbook of all the important times in her life, i.e. her wedding, childrens' birthdays, anniversaries. If you don't think she would like these things there is always a classic cookie bouquet. Everyone loves cookies!!!!!!!!!!

You could buy her
-Some expensive perfume
-Is her hair curly or thick? Buy her a Chi off of Ebay, they are worth around 100$ (if you're willing for 20 more, you could buy her one locally.)
-Look on the internet for good spas in her area, perhaps get in contact with them and set up an appointment - send the money to her then.
-Is there any animal/object she likes? Buy a statue of it if you see one you might think she likes.
-Dinnerware/plate set. I don't know how much these go for, but a lady can't have enough nice looking plates to eat off of!
Hopefully these can get you started. I'm sure you'll think of more and other people should suggest things =) Good luck on that, really.

Survey says....SPA treatment! I'm sure if you visited one of the nicer local salons, you could get them to put together a package of sorts...maybe a pedicure, manicure and facial. They might even give you a special deal if they know you're giving this as a gift. Or is there a quaint little tea spot where she and a friend could enjoy a nice leisurely lunch? Just knowing that you put such thought into this, tells me that your Mom is going to love whatever you give her. Happy Birthday to Mom!

Check out the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. I got my Mom a Momma bear and 4 baby bears (one for each of he kids) for Mother's Day a few years ago and she absolutely loved them. I had them stitch on the name of each kid on each bear. I don't remember how much it was, more than $90 I think, but they had lots of options and were relatively easy to deal with on the phone.
Good Luck!

Get her a gift certificate to a store you know she loves to shop, eat, go to the movies. Or you can go the handmade route if you have time/knowledge. I crocheted a poncho for my mom one year, a blanket for Christmas, scarf for another occasion. Mom's like homemade things. freepatterns.com has some really good knit/crochet/craft ideas.

I bet your mom would love a personal "massager" for those aching muscles. I reccomend the 8 inch neon green one.

Well, if it were my mom. I'd probably go to Build-a-Bear workshops or something and put her together a bear. Of course, without knowing your mother I don't know if that'd be any help.
