Mozilla Firefox, but you have already heard that. To answer the second part of your question:

Compared to IE it is much safer, much more stable, much faster, has many more features (including an excellent pop-up blocker, bookmark keywords, a find in page feature that I use constantly, a great page source viewer that includes a find in page feature which I also use constantly, an extremely useful search bar, and tabbed browsing), and it is much easier to use. It allows you to easily transfer your settings and favorites from IE. Plus, it supports pretty much any OS and there are hundreds (if not thousands) of extensions for it, so you can get it to do just about ANYTHING you want.

The search bar allows you to search (among others) Google, Webster, Amazon, eBay, and Wikipedia--I never though I would use a search bar so much. One of my favorite things about Firefox is the keyword feature; with it, you can add a keyword to any of your bookmarks, and when you type this word in the address bar it will take you to the bookmark. For instance, when I type ‘radar’ it automatically takes me to my favorite weather radar loop. This way, the normally long URLs don’t need to be memorized and they don’t get lost in a sea of bookmarks (I have a bookmark folder named ‘Keywords’).

The toolbars at the top take up much less room than in IE (despite the search bar and tabs) so you see more of the webpage (so you don’t have to scroll as much). It is very easy to backup your entire profile of Firefox (including cookies, saved form information, saved passwords, settings, bookmarks, and history); so if your computer crashes, your internet browsing experience will be identical on your new computer--this has recently happened to me and I am EXTREMELY happy with it. Not to mention that it is completely free.

Also, with Firefox, you can easily transfer all of your bookmarks, saved form information, and passwords to Portable Firefox. With Portable Firefox, you can run Firefox off of a storage device (such as a USB flash drive or even some digital cameras) on any computer; without leaving any information behind.

I haven’t used Opera so I can’t personally tell you that it isn’t better, but since Firefox does everything I could ever want (and then some) I have never had a need to try it.

As for IE 7, it has more problems than you can imagine--you would be far better off going and downloading a virus; at least then a virus scanner may be able to catch it.

I sincerely hope you try Firefox, and if for any reason you don’t like it, please tell me what your dislike is caused by--I have yet to find any real flaws.

i like firefox. you can add features to firefox by downloading extensions(tools -> extensions -> get more extensions) if u want additional features. you can also change the look of the browser by using themes(tools -> themes -> get more themes). its fast, secure, free, stable, and has tabbed browsing. what more could someone ask for? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

another option is Opera http://www.opera.com/ ...but i prefer firefox. the new version of internet explorer (ie 7) is finally catching on and adding features that firefox has had for a long time. just goes to show u that firefox is helping to drive the browser market.

As a information superhighway clothier, as quickly as I software my HTML and CSS to one hundred% standards compliance, cyber web Explorer nonetheless would not show my pages wisely. Firefox does. So, I desire Firefox for various motives. I additionally like the obtainable "Ctrl+T" to open a clean tab.

Firefox. Not that it's super great on it's own, but the extensions you can get for it really expand it's usefulness quite a bit.
