Is Hollywood making the worst movies lately?

I'm only 15 and i think they sort of are. it's like what is this world going to, theres still good kind hard working people out of millions of lazy rude slobs. there are still some good movies coming of the dumb ones. i agree though!!!!

In a word, NO. There are lots of films made and released in the cinema and some go direct to DVD, read what the critics say from a variety of sources and if you know what you like, then it would be easy to know what other films you would like.

Being overly fussy, and not liking anything, well that's just daft. I'm probably not even in the right age range for some of the movies that i actually like, and granted most of them are badly promoted and reviewed, most of them are still entertaining and an enjoyable diversion for a couple of hours.

Of course Hollywood goes through phases, because as an example, there were two asteroid movies a couple of years ago.

Some time ago, ca 1970, it appears the scientologists took over Hollywood. Many of the movies have a "I am a God" concept in one of the characters. That's not quite as good as the old days when a story was being told without quasi-religious overtones. Compare Dr. Strangelove or Romeo and Juliet with any current movie. You are correct.

Hollywood is making MORE movies lately, so there is a chance that there are more bad movies.

You can't always go by the movie critics opinions as to whether a movie is good or bad.

Being a movie buff these movies are horrible. I like when Oscar time comes around and see soem real good movies when. They only think about making money and try to push it off on kids because they are a large consumer base. Most of these movies are not for their eyes.

I don't go to the movies anymore either. partly b/c of what you're describing, but also b/c the ppl in the theatres are so rude and talk outloud & have their cellphones on. If I want to see a movie, I just wait to rent it usually. Drive-in movies are fun, too.

hollywood never made anything else than bad movies.with acouple of exceptions.Try the british films, the italian or swedish they are not so violence orientated as the demographic steered american crap.It's the same old song in hollywood $$$$$$$$$$ and why not you may ask.

And you wonder why you have so many social problems.

What sells? sex and violence!And this in a God fearing land where 82% are religious.God help us

some movies are still good, check out larry the cable guy health inspector..its funny. And V for vendetta was good. the new movie Waiting is also very entertaining. you just need to take chances but it does seem that they are running out of good movies to make

Hell yes!! They've run out of original ideas so they steal the movies you'd normally see on the "world movies" channel and re-hash them hollywood style.

Give me SBS anyday!

much worse.. try watching some old love and action movies... thye might inspire you to make the kind of movie that you want that won't be bad for sure!
