the secret is in the pudding

Many years ago I completed my first year in computer science before I had to quit for personal reasons. Since then I have never occupied an IT position but I have kept a small business on th side doing PC repair, sales and small networks. I recently tried to apply for a few IT jobs, mostly helpdesk types. All the feedback was unanimous. I need some more "networking" experience. For that I was considering getting my CCNA after taking a preparatory class for it. I attended the information session for the class and I am confident I can hack it.

Is the CCNA going to make me a better candidate?

Is there something else I can do other then go back to school for 2 more years to get my computer science degree?

Emotionally, I'm just a mess right now and not available for a relatioship and don't want to hurt the girl with whom I've recently gone out with. I know for a fact she is very interested but I really don't want to loose her. She doesn't deserve to be hurt and I need a friend. Any advice?

All my life I've been verbally abused, treated as a second class family member, openly criticized and intentionally mocked and humiliated. I'm now 34 and I'm at a point where I want to cut al ties with them. Since I do know that a father figure is important, what are the implications of cutting all ties with a parent?

What difficulties can arise later in life from such a decision?

Been diagnosed with social anxiety by 2 psychiatrists and self-diagnosed with atypical depression. I haven't worked in a 9 to 5 job for 2 years. I live with my parents at the age of 35. I spend my days on the net and occasionally answering service calls for PC repair. I can't afford rent as my business barely pays for my mobile phone and my small living expenses. I don't actively socialise since I have nothing to offer and mostly feel embarrassed about my situation.

I've tried on two occasion to go to group therapy and quit both times as it felt very uncomfortable and literally pointless. I've tried Prozac in the past and it did seem to work but every single time I took the pills, it reminded me I wasn't normal and made me hate them. When I meet a girl, I even start to judge her, saying to my self, she must so desperate to be interested in someone like me.

My life is downright unsatisfying. What do you suggest?

From my part of the world, we never see any Muslims take an active role against terrismt and violence in the world. I never hear them condem firmly and unequivically acts of violence. I don't believe they might support violence or promote it in general but don't they have a serious image problem? What are you guys (Muslims) doing about it?

My mother is Egytian and she remembers when she was growing-up that veils where not wide spread in Cairo. My father is Lebanease and he reports the same from his native Lebanon. I have friends from Trukey reporting the same trend.

A friend of mine reports that her sister who owns a drug store in Algeria, looses customers if she doesn't ware a veil to work. She is her self frustrated and doesn't understand it. Where does this relatively recent social pressure come from and why? Please elaborate.

I've been noticing I go to the movies alot less lately. I see the commercials and I know it will be a movie for 14 year olds, so I don't. Also movie critics complain about not getting invited to premiers anymore. Is Hollywood preventing them intentionally so they don't get a chance to warn us of bad movies? Am I getting older or are these movies getting worst?

Every thime I drink from a cup of coffee, I feel a poking sensation in my right eye. By the time I finish my cup, my eye is bleeding. What should I do?
