A person is eligible for Medicare in the 25th month after they have been on disability for 24 months. About 3 months prior to your eligibility date, you should receive an initial enrollment packet from Medicare and your Medicare card. You can also call SSA and they will let you know when you will be eligible for Medicare or to verify Medicare status.

Age 67, unless you qualify earlier because of serious disability.
