    My favorite is the Dirty Martini, which is vodka and olive juice, with a couple olives on a toothpick/sword. Probaby 2/3 vodka, 1/3 olive juice. The second one can be stronger, like 3/4 1/4. They can get stronger as you go. For this one, quality vodka (Skyy, Ketel, GreyGoose) is the way to go.

    Another way to go is to get a mixer, like 'apple' or 'cosmo'. For those, I usually go about the same ratio as above. Vodka quality is not as important, so you can go cheaper since the flavor will be masked.

    Another interesting mixer is butterscotch schnapps. It sounds yucky, but it was a last resort, and it wasn't bad. 4/5 vodka, 1/5 schnapps.

    Anyway, put some ice into a shaker, and the ingredients from above. Shake them up for about 10 seconds, then strain it into the martini glass.

    Use a good vodka like Belvedere or Grey Goose

    Pour about 3-4 oz in a shaker with ice.

    Shake it really good to chill the vodka.

    In a martini glass (preferably chilled) pour about a 1/2 oz of Dry Vermouth in the glass, swirl it around, dump it out.

    Strain your chilled vodka into the glass over a couple of speared giant olives.

    Enjoy

    This fruity, flavored martini phase must end....Oh well, I guess I'm a traditionalist

    Start off by choosing a decent vodka. I'd say nothing lower then Stoli or Ketel One.

    In a mixing can filled with ice combine;

    2oz of Vodka

    1/4 oz of Dry Vermouth

    Shake well& strain into a martini glass...

    Garnish with olives or a lemon twist

    with belvedere vodka, hands down. get some dry vermouth pour it in the martini glass, swirl and dump it (you just need it to line the glass) mix ice and vodka in a shaker and stick a couple of olives in it (some olive juice too, if u want-just a touch) my favorite olives have almonds in them. THIS is a GREAT martini!!!!! =D
