How many of you wish you had the option of choosing the worst answer to your question?

yes yes yes, and also the ability to respond when people don't quite get your question

Excellent idea. Many answers definitely deserve a 10-point deduction.

But such an option would be subject to rampant abuse. If the average IQ on here was a little higher, it might work, but as it stands, no. A pity.

It is a good idea on the surface, however the humiliation might discourage participation by the faint of heart. This site depends on people being willing to participate. Some people would be very vicious as you can tell from some of their answers. So I am ambivalent about it.

well maybe its a good idea to limit the stupid answers but its gana effect some normal answers too...like when you choose an answer as the pest answer the person that you choose get excited that he/she answered something that another person considered as the pest answer + they become happy because they gained 10 points i don't know why!! but if you choose an answer as the worst answer maybe its gana make the person who wrote it upset..maybe he wasn't joking and he really was trying to help and to share his idea's and thoughts with you but unfortunately the the person who asked didn't like it for a reason and decided to choose it as the worst answer!!

The primary problem with that is there are usually more "worst answers" than "best answers."

I usually have a really hard time choosing "best answer" without having to decide on which is worse than the others.

Hmm, a tempting notion, but inevitably the Yahoo Answers team would have to start acting as referees, and they have quite enough to do already.

I do believe it will curtail the way people participate. Many will find that they are running a negative balance with no hope what-so-ever of seeing above the line.

Excellent idea. You should suggest it to Yahoo. Most of the time there seems to be no point in asking anything because of the stupid responses.

In that case i suggest all the answers except the best answer should be penalized...what do you say...come on yaar...what about freedom of expression...unless it is abusive and doing no harm why should the person be penalized...

I think its a great idea as there are too many people giving stupid reponses to serious questions. Suggest it to yahoo

i fully agree....especially when someone types an answer that in no way corresponds to the question and you just want to tell them what a moron they really are
