The Passion of the Christ movie really moved me especially since I am not religious Please Explain?

Who were all of the people surrounding him other than his mother and disciples? Who was the woman with the evil looking baby? If Judas betrayed him why did a demon go after him wasnt that good on their part? What kind of priests were the men in black, what religion did they believe? Where did Jesus go after he was resurrected? I would appreciate a full breakdown if you guys have the time. Thanks :)

It is indeed an excellently made movie. Based mostly in the visions of a catholic nun and on the godspels. Some liberties were taken by the director in order to stress some points. The crowd surrounding him were mostly the citizens of Jerusalem. There were members of the Zanhedrin (The men with black robes) They were jewish, and thus the idea of a messiah was a blasphemy.

Jesus resurrected after three days of being crucified. He appeared to certain key persons and gave messages, important ones, to his disciples. Then he ascended to heaven. All of this is in the bible. Take some time and talk a person educated in the scriptures, who will gladly explain it to you.

The Passion movie probably moved you because you AREN'T religious. Then again, it moved a lot of people. The evil-looking baby was the devil, trying to make Jesus do things. The people surrounding him were followers I believe. Jesus was put into a stone tomb after his resurrection. Thats the only things I remember from the movie. Surely someone else remembers more than I do...

Thats a lot of questions but here goes:

Many people followed Jesus and believed him to be "The Christ", The woman with the evil looking baby could have meant to be many things, I think it was supposedly the mother of the devil's son-the antichrist(the baby), The priests were part of the Sanhidrin(jewish religious leaders of the church), they were Jews, Jesus ascended to Heaven.

the woman with the evil baby was Satan. the men in black were Jews, Judas went crazy after he betrayed Jesus and killed himself, Jesus went and saw his disciples after the resurrection...

Couldn't agree more with Dr dee. Ignoring the story told in the Book itself, Gibson reached out for a more bizarre and violent comprehension of Christs life. Just about everytthing is missing. or wrong, for that matter.

I think you might need to read the bible as there are many answers to all of your questions right there....Seems to me that you might be needing to talk to a minister or something, knowing what Jesus did for us makes everything else in this world seem so trivial. Try contacting a local church, there are many people that are willing to sit down with you and show you in the bible where the answers to your questions might be.

Sorry I cannot answer most of these. But I found the movie so full of violent bloody scenes and I was too sick of it to think of the questions you mentioned. I wonder why such a movie about cruelty of human mind turned out to be so popular?

the other answer summed up pretty well- but do you think maybe that what you saw moved you because there was a message there that struck a chord in you?
