What's the big deal about prom?
I guess if you've got a relationship or if you've really connected with the rest of your senior class, then that would be reason enough to go. For an outsider, it's just a fancy high school dance. Does anybody /really/ regret not going? I'm not being cynical here...I'm honestly very curious about why people make such a big deal about it.

I don't get it. I see it as an excuse to be extravagant, ride around town in a limo, dress up, and have another social event with a bunch of people from school, many of whom you probably don't like. I went to a concert on my senior prom night. It was much more enjoyable (and cheaper) than any school event would've been, and I had the pleasure of chuckling at some dressed-up high schoolers standing outside in the rain as I drove by. If you're not interested, don't bother with prom - it's a waste of your time and money.

Heres my theory on prom I'm not going and i know i wont regret it because me and all my friends are going to go and party with each other anyway. All prom is, is a place for people to say theve been and i think its more about the court members and the king and queen than anybody else why spend alot of money on a nice looking outfit when you can dress up in trashy jeans and a cruddy tee-shirt and live it up with a bunch of friends at a fraction of the cost.

I guess it is the biggest and last social event of the year and of your high school years if you are a senior. And it is one of the things that everyone asks about years later, 'did you go to the prom?', 'who did you go to the prom with?', etc. I was between boyfriends during my senior prom and so I went with a group of girlfriends...but it wasn't the same and so my memories are rather boring and I hate that. I don't really have a 'prom nite story'...but in the grand scheme of things, its ok, I had a great wedding, great trips, etc. But there is something almost mystical about prom...probably being one in a process of steps leading up to the end of your childhood.

Any journey that's unique and happens basically as quickly as is your existence would immediately be a huge deal. Plus, there are basically some situations while a woman can get very dressed up. you do not would desire to spend a variety of of money nonetheless. There are outstanding dresses available on Ebay that have basically been worn at another promenade or ball. you would be able to desire to get one among those or seek for deeply discounted dresses on sale. It truthfully does not would desire to ruin the bank to circulate to promenade and you will desire those photographs continuously. Cheers!! : }

I didn't go to prom, and I can't say I regret it. From what I heard, almost no one danced at it. It's just an old tradition that people get excited about.
