Question about superheroes and sciencific possibility?

If someone were to write a story about a superhero that was scientifically reasonable given, say, 20 years of advances in materials science, biophysics, etc-would that be interesting? Would detailed descriptions (as part of the story and plot) of the "superpowers" and how they came about, that were fairly detailed and scientifically plausible, be interesting to those of you who like superhero/villian literature? Assume a scientist actually wrote it using best-guess extrapolation.

Update:

Oh wow...I misspelled scientific..

I had to make a mess to dig this thing out, so I hope you appreciate this answer :) There was actually a Marvel, "What if" back in 1996 called "What if...starring the Fantastic Four: Deadly Inheritance" which sort of deals with the issue you raise. In a nutshell, it's about the Fab 4 getting their powers, but having to deal with the consiquenses of them. Mr. Fantastic can streatch, but not retract. Jonny actually gets burned when he "flames on." Worth digging out of a bargin bin.

Iron Man started out as being reasonably feasible, given tech advances; After all, powered armour has been considered seriously since the 1950's and working models of exosuits were built in the 1960's.

There is a book out you could find on Amazon called "The Science of Supervillians" which would answer some of these queries.

There is a book called "The Physics of Superheros" that was written by an actual physicist. It deals with plausibility in existing story lines. There is not really an answer in here anywhere, but I thought you might find this interesting.

If you are looking for something like this read the books Wild cards...where they go into great detail on how superpowers work...and it sold well

As long as the illustrations are decent, I am likely to enjoy it.
