What could be the causes of bleeding from the ear canal?

I'm an EMT, my daughter's(age 12) ear is bleeding & I can't figure out why. She was at school and thought her ear felt funny. She put her finger in & felt blood. It's not running out, just laying in the canal, still wet She has had no trauma to her head. She says otherwise she feels normal - no earache, sore throat, she has not been sick. She does have a history of ear infections, but usually has pain with that. Any ideas?

Does she have tubes? Has she been following the rule nothing bigger then your elbow in your ear. Did she pick abit? Did she have water in her ear, and try to get it out with an high alcohol and peroxide solution. That could dry it out. Has it been unusually cold out? That is all I can think about. My dad was an EMT and took pleasure in outsmarting doctors with ailments. He was also willing to back down when he is beat. If none of these are it I would call the pediatrician.
