The boy next-door has his music cranked up.. what to do?

I don't know why but he turns it on when the clock strikes ten.. too many nights. I have phoned and asked him to shut it down.. too many times... what should I do? I mean, we live in a duplex so share a wall..and my floor is vibrating!..; and, not in a good way!

think of this as an oppurntunity for revenge there are just so many options, you could

a)vandalise his house with eggs and such

b)just calls the cops let them sort him out

c)go outside and shut his power off, lol

d)give him a taste of his own medicine

one things for sure this guy must pay!!!!

You need to get a subwoofer, bigger speakers than his and a really old recording of some opera. Enrico Caruso is nice. The subwoofer will bring out the crackle from the 80 year old recording and if you turn yours up louder than his.... Ah, sweet revenge.

If you want a more reasonable answer, just ask him to turn if off (suggest he use headphones) after a certain time or on certain nights. Maybe remind him how glad he is that he doesn't have to hear YOUR music all the time. Getting the law involved sounds stuck up and mean to me. He's entitled to his loud music just as much as you're entitled to your peace and quiet.

I have the same problem, i just turn my TV or music up and start banging on the wall. After about 5 min. he gets the hint and turns it down.

Call the police to come & tell him to turn down the noise. It's not supposed to be noisy after 10 or 11pm.

you went the polite route, now its the time to call the law, they get a clue when they are in cuffs or better yet if the both of you are renting call the landlord and document the times, and still call the cops, they will eventually be evicted

You should phone either the police or your local council. He is breaking laws or council regulations depending where in the world you live. They can then serve proper legal notices on him and follow up.

I would tell him that if he does not turn it down a notch and be a little more considerate then he leaves you no other choice but to call the police!

Wait until 2:00 a.m. and then just crank some "Vivaldi" right back at him. Repeat if necessary.

well if you have access to the basement go down there and shut the circuit breaker off for his electricity over and over again until he gets the picture

Show up at his front door with a shotgun and a ski mask.
