Why do people answer questions in the "Homework Help" section with rude comments?

I bet it's because the they want the points. If they say "Do your own GD homework, they probably don't know the answer, anyway. In any case, the more polite thing to do, if you really want those points, is give a person advice on how to get the answer that they are looking for. Sometimes, people just need a place to start.

Nobody should be rude about anything, but the truth is, some people are. Sometimes the rudeness could come from feeling stupid for not knowing the answers; more often, I would suspect that people think that the questions being ask are for the answers rather than help getting to the answers. The reason for homework is to give the student a learning exercise. We take that away when we just hand out answers. If questions were ask in a way that helped the student learn rather than to just give the answer, the people answering may tend to be more tolerable.

They need to remove that category altogether. There is a difference between help me do my homework and "do my homework for me," which is what the majority of these questions are really asking. "What is the answer to ..." or "Tell me ... and explain why." This is a question and answer forum, not a cheat-sheet for lazy slackers. The world would be a better place if people would take responsibility for themselves, stop being little whining tattle-tells when they don't like the answer, and would get off this forum and go do their own GD homework instead of begging others to do it for them.

Because they're rude, it's not like you have to give an answer and a lot I've seen ask for help on how to work something out or just to check grammar, so if people don't want to give an answer all they have to do is show how to work something out or just try and give comments to help or a website that can help in research.

you as a teacher should know better, i mean how would you feel if you gave your students an assignment for tomorrow but nowone did it and they just got their answers from here instead. That wont help your students learn the lesson instead it will make them more lazy and in the future they wont even be able to rely on themselves.

Everyone needs a little help every once in a while, I don't understand why it should bother anyone...ahh well.Some people just prefer to abuse message boards and the like.Hopefully for the student seeking aid their will be one good answer for every ten bad ones.

On my list of things that would make the world a better place, not abusing homework help doesnt make the top 150.......

people are rude and dont know the answers to the ??? that you are asking. Therefore, they answer back idiotic things just because they are stupid because they did not do their own homework. I am sorry that people are rude. Keep asking for help though. Grades come first! Good luck

How does it help you to be educated if other people do your work for you? It's actually cheating. I don't mind giving a hint or some basic background but some kids want answers to an assignment or they want someone to write an essay for them. Take responibility for your own education.

You really wanna know? Because there is alot of immature people here. You should be only aloud to use answer if u are 18 or older with credit card but keep it free just for age verification. MySpace should be like that.
