What do you all think of death?
My uncle,(mom's brother), passed away some 2 weeks ago from blood cancer. He was only 39, and has 3 young children. Probably some of you have lost loved ones as well. What is a life? What is death?
Life just ceases. And you think of that life. What does death bring?
Please share your answers in a thoughtful, sympathetic way. Would appreciate if people don't preach. I'm muslim, and know full well of God and his plans. Speak as to a fellow human.

I do not share your faith, but will speak only as a person, as you ask.
A life is the span of years alotted to a person to spend on this earth. It can be spent well or badly, but it WILL end. This is what gives it value. When it does end, many of us believe we go on to something else. I believe that. I have also seen some evidence that one who has died can influence those still among the living. When a life ends, I think it appropriate to celebrate that life. It's good to remember all that the person brought to those around them and did in that life.
It is too bad that your uncle had to leave his family behind. Death is hardest on the living. I am sure he feels the love the family still has for him. It may help to think of him as not all that far away. Death brings a certain peace. Your uncle has been freed of his pain.

Many Paths.
Is yours here?
I have my own faith and it is shared by many.
Does that make it right?
My faith and trust is in the Word.
I know many don't believe the Bible,
and some prefer out of convenience not to give it a chance,
but in His Word it simply says,
"to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord".
This is what I put my hope and trust in, and no one has anything better to offer me than the peace this gives me.
IF OTHERS want to belittle the fact that some folks want to believe a book written by a bunch of men, that's okay.
They in turn can be belittled for not having any beliefs,
or for the belief they do adhere to.
All in all,
it comes down to what gives you solace, peace, and hope.
One may ask:
"WHAT ARE GHOSTS?"
and by doing so, they entertain that there is life after death,
in some fashion, or dimension.
Folks can look at that summize and say "that guys nuts".
SOME would look at death and say
"when you die, you become/return to, the energy that is in life around you".
This is cool, and takes responsibility for this life out of the picture, and makes what you do here irrelevent.
If you notice, by removing that responsibility for your actions here, that person receives peace/solace and is content with "death".
Still others, prefer to think that life is returned to this earth in another form. Human, animal, whatever.
In this aspect, aren't they giving theirselves "another chance" by thinking that they can "get it right next time"?
Perhaps reaching or working toward this "nirvana" in another life?
Doesn't that remove weight from this life, and make this life more fun and games?
I don't know everything, but I do know this:
NO ONE Can tell you that their way is absolute,
but my guess is that One of these....is Right.
We wait as millions/billions/trillions of our ancestors have, and then,
we find out.
I trust what I trust and feel good in it.
YOU trust, as you are led, and pull from it what you believe to be true.
My faith is in the Lord.
I trust, everyone here has faith of their own, that their way is absolute.
I wish you peace on this trek, friend.
Source(s): Is it like Crosby Stills and Nash said? "we have all been here before....we have all been here before...." Or Is it like Madaline Ohare would like you to think: There isn't nothing out there, so just exist and die. Again... Peace to you and all. - ♫Lv 42 decades ago
Death is when a person stops living, physically. But everyone thinks different things as to what happens to after "death" and the soul/spirit, so I can't answer that truthfully

Death is final and it really sucks. I don't know what happens after death, no one does. It is a part of life I wish didn't happen, but it does, so we must each make our own peace with it. This is one thhing you have to do alone.

If you are a Christian and you are saved death is beautiful and peaceful because you get to go to Heaven and be with Jesus.

Unavoidable fact of life for all of us. I truly believe we simply pass from one dimension to another.
