80% of humaniny, the religious folks, don't need to ask the maning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducting crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

If you take human beings to be just an organism (biologically speaking) it would be to synthesise food, procreate, proliferate and perish. But they have this thingy called the intellect. So I guess the entire goal of a human life is to find the goal...It would otherwise be tough to die with questions unanswered.

To simultaneously discover our individual will and then to submit that to alien processes beyond any human control.
Apparently that's the 'best thing' to do in life. If you want to play that game, it's best to know now.
I don't.

To achieve enlightenment & escape cyclical existence; at least to avoid a bad reincarnation.
But also, yes - don't tread in it . . .

Each incarnation is to burn karma and learn in order to evolve spirtually. God does not infere in human free will in order for man to forge his own will.
The unvirse provides all that is desired.......
eventually man is learn to have no desire but love for all and become ready for the five intiations of the masters......i dunno.

to be happy, whatever that means for each individual... as long as that happiness does not take away the happiness of others!
