There are, Primetime just focus on the bad ones. It is terrible that there are bad ones out there, and what is worse is that the government lets them take care of these children. I would be a foster parent in a heartbeat if I had the room.

Your correct. Our children are our future. I would be happy to have a foster child or more. But because there is so much red tape and the fact that you have to lie in a very upbeat home. I cannot. A shame there are not alot of us out there who care for more then money.....

I watched it too and felt the same way. I hate to say it but I had to turn the channel. I felt guilty sitting there playing weebol wobbles with my three year old knowing that other kids would dream for that. I want to love them all. I hate to bring politics into this but how can anyone support bringing DEMOCRACY in Iraq when this is going on here?

dont know how it is where you live-but here to be a foster parent you give up a lot of privacy to the government and have to abide by there rules-not many people are willing to do that even though they would gladly help out a kid-yes these are necessary rules-lots of nuts out there who would hurt children-but it really limits a lot of people from helping out-old hippie

I know...you'd think the people willing to do it would be people who loved kids. Or, I guess they just want the money from the government. I think few people do it because it would be so hard to become attached to a child then have to give them up for adoption. It's also a lot of work.

There are PLENTY of GREAT foster parents...the system is FULL of them. I also watched the special, it may give you the wrong idea about the foster system. Please take the time to review the facts...not just what the TV tells you!

I dont know...it baffles me too. I think because you do get attached to the kids, and then you have to give them up....but it is very sad to see. I also watched some of the primetime special.

Not to be rude, but ARE YOU A FOSTER PARENT? If not, people do not become foster parents for the same reasons you aren't.
