Take him to some other people that stink and make sure he knows what he smells like. Then tell him that he can prevent himself from smelling so bad by using deodorant and such. Also, let him pick it out from the store.

Take him on a "field trip" to Iowa.

Go look at the wonderful, poingant pig farms.

Have him know what stink really is.

Tell him that if he doesn't wear the deodorant every day, he will smell JUST LIKE THE PIGS IN IOWA.

Buy him a "COOL" MAN'S BODY DEODORANT SPRAY.

There are many on the market these days.

    Enjoy.

Ignore the crap about lack of vitamins.

Body odor comes from a combination of the output of apocrine glands (oil glands that start being active around the age of puberty) and perspiration that provide food for naturally existing bacteria...which when they multiply, they cause an odor.

Have you explored why he is resistant to wearing deodorant? I once talked to a kid about BO and he said that his friends told him that deodorant had aluminum and caused brain tumors. So there's all kind of misinformation out there. He may also just be lazy. Compare it to simple hygiene like tooth brushing and when he gets older, shaving.

Who is the parent and who is the child? Body odor is caused by a lack of vitamins in the body. Some can sweat all day and never stink at all. You are the parent, have him take a multi vitamin daily and eat well, and use the deodorant.

I don't have any sons, but I had a stinky brother. I would hold him down and put deodorant on him and clean his ears. I also showed him how to use a wash machine and dryer. I told him that if he did not take a bath I would put on a swimming suit, put him in swim trunks and give him a bath myself. I never had to follow through. No boy wants his mother or older sister bathing him at that age. My brother is 6'3" now so I'm glad he has forgiven me. ;-)

Hire a pretty girl to tell him she will go out with him if he cleans up and wears some deodorant.

Get a criminal expert. it particularly is the 1st step no be counted what! Getting a criminal expert would not propose which you try to cover the fact--basically look after your son's rights. you could desire to comprehend that when the fact does come out--he's taken care of particularly and justly. the 2d step is to call the officer in fee of the case and make an appointment to talk with him [deliver the criminal expert]. i might additionally confer with the criminal expert and the officer approximately speaking with the owner of the development. it is available that [if the guy is cool] he might settle for an apology without pressing costs to your son's section in replace to your son's help in cleansing or helping to artwork on the development. If there are actually not any formal costs filed--i might save on with an identical steps above. based upon your city and the potential of your police or interior of reach sheriff--the criminal expert could no longer be mandatory...yet i might make particular that there is a 0.33 occasion [independent] or interior of reach authority determine recent to mediate and witness any talk or settlement [have it notarized]. good success!

My oldest was the same way. I told him when he was little and coulndn't change his own diaper I had to do it for him and if he was now big and couldn't do it himself then I would have to do it for him. 2 days of that and he remembers atleast 85% of the time:). 12 year olds hate for mom to baby them.

Put it on him while he's sleeping, right before you wake him up. If that doesn't work then say," I used to be a kid too, and i hated it when a guy smelled bad.
