I am fifteen and weigh 180 pounds. Help, tell me if this is unhealthy.?
I am a major weightlifting girl, I weightlift twice a day, run once and bike whenever I can. I was in track, I threw shotput and discus and ran the one hundred. And I am also in cheerleading and cross country running. Is this unhealthy. I had my BMI taken and they said my muscle content is unusually high for a girl. I am almost 5'11. And six months ago I weighed only 135. My coach told me I gained muscle not fat, but does this sounds unhealthy ? I can run the mile in about six minutes and twelve seconds.

Well, everyone's different. That said, I'm a dude, I'm built heavily, I'm 6'2, I lift weights, and I weigh 190 (and I'm trying to lose 10 lbs)... so... while you're probably not at the "unhealthy" point you are probably at the "overweight" point. My suggestion would be to run a half mile every few days. It's not that much and it'll make all the difference in the world. Also, either cut down on soda or just cut it outright. DO NOT have ANY fast food AT ALL, unless it's a last ditch on a road trip or something - fast food is just horrid for you. Try to eat more fruits, since they are full of nutrients, taste good, and speed up your metabolism.

You go girl, There is nothing wrong with being athletic. As far as the muscule it's better than fat. There aren't may kids as fit as you these days . If you keep it up you will probaly win a scholiship to some school or think of maybe making a career out of weightlifting. You could go professional or become a fitness instructor, or a gym teacher. So don't let all that lean muscle get you down be prowd of it . And keep up the good work.

as far as I know, i belive muscle weighs more than fat, so it will sound like you weigh alot. Do you feel healthy? are you active? Do you do healthy things? do you eat healthy? this is all that really matters.
