Could I be pregnant?
I am on a birth control pill, but it is low-dose. I missed five pills from the pack before (2 in a row, and then three more sporadically), and I missed one pill last Wednesday. At that time, I was exactly 14 days away from my period. After missing the pill, I had unprotected sex with my husband. A couple hours later, I could feel myself ovulating.
(Side note: I am fairly regular and come from a line of fertile women. I have been able to feel myself ovulating from the time my period started until I got on birth control-- it's like a dull ache.)
I know that usually missing one pill doesn't mean an instant pregnancy but I am concerned because I could feel myself ovulating. I have another week and a half or so before I can take the test without running the risk of a false negative, but I figured I'd weigh in with you guys and ease some of the anxiety.
I am okay with being pregnant-- just to clarify.

Well, the best bet is to call your doc and see if they want you to continue your BC. You obviously don't want a child right now or you wouldn't be on the pill. The doc might have you double up on your dose, similar to the morning after pill...see what they think. Good luck to you, accidents happen, but the pill is pretty good at keeping you safe even with a few misses.

I don't think it was the one pill you missed last Wednesday, but also the five you missed last month. For someone who wants to control pregnancy, you sure are taking some big risks with those little pills.
Are you sure you don't really want a baby?
I think I'd be finding out from the doctor, and then getting on some other birth control that you don't have to worry about missing, such as patches or shots or something.

It is possible. The Pill is supposed to prevent fertilization (or, following fertilization, to prevent implantation). Remember that it's roughly a 50-50 chance of becoming pregnant, though.
Have you considered a patch instead? Since it sounds like you track your period, have you two thought about the Billings Method instead of trying to rely on a pill?

Ive done the same thing. When you miss pills your body gets all out of whack for a little bit. you will probably be late on your period but that is normal. if you start becoming sick to your stomach, your breasts hurt, and your moody, go take a pregnancy test.

Your timing is right, but you still only have about a 20 percent chance of getting pregnant. One of his little swimmers still has to find it's way to your egg. Your right, you can't take a test till later, but it is possible that you are pregnant.
