Has anyone had bad luck buying off of eBay?

More and more sellers are misrepresenting junk or overcharging shipping to make up for selling fees, and it's getting outrageous. I've been with eBay for years, and I'm ready to quit because it seems like they've got too big to take care of individuals anymore. Their claim filing process takes forever and is mostly a series of automated messages, so it is just about worthless. Any ideas about how to get people together and complain to them so maybe they would listen to a group as opposed to just one individual?

As both a buyer and a seller, I can tell you that it's still a great place to do business! Check a seller's feedback before you bid. If they've been treating folks right, it'll show up here. When buying, I also try to stay away from the big business sellers and find individuals. I've received more personalized and friendly service with the individual sellers.

Your best bet is to check the sellers feedback (same for buyers if you are selling). I have never been burned by a seller, but some of them are horribly slow at shipping. They are usually the ones who have statements indicating payment must be made within 3 days, blah, blah...

Buyers on the other hand, are making it miserable to sell on there. I will not accept a bid anymore from anyone with less than 10 feedbacks, and those 10 better be posititive.. and absolutely no one with an AOL email address. It takes about a month to get a refund of the seller fees from ebay when these losers don't pay and never log on again. I think I would be better off renting space at the local flea market than messing with ebay.

Yes, I used to buy more but as lof the last two years, about 1/4 of all my purchases have been bad.

I have had one book recieved in completely non usable condition ( and they would not do any refund) I had a cup that was never shipped after being paid, I did get some money back because I had ebay insurance boughtt but the seller never did make it good.

I had another cup mis represented, but decided to keep it anyway,

I had a computer that was just junk when I got it in, they seller finally replaced it but it was a real hassle

often times its a nasty decision. Now, i purchased a suitable gown that's being offered on a impressive form of different information superhighway sites, yet i have been given it on ebay for only somewhat more cost-effective, clean! in spite of the undeniable fact that, often times once you purchase a series length rather of custom, or perhaps once you're replacing with overseas human beings that's more durable as my attire measurements were all suitable for me, yet the robe grow to be two times the dimensions of me! yet i'm positive you may want to contact the broking and ask any questions, maximum of them are so wonderful! see you later as you do not concepts determining to purchase it and perchance having to go back it and prepared on you money? once you've your promenade quickly like interior a month you shouldn't purchase off ebay as deliveries can decrease to rubble and also you're stuck, in spite of the undeniable fact that if not supply it a go! i wish you come across a stunning gown :)

My very first purchase was for a lot of board books for toddlers described as "gently used." The items arrived 2 months later and their condition can only be described as "trash." I cannot for the life of me allow my baby to touch those tattered and very dirty books.

My second one was a lot of vintage postcards. The lot was in poor condition, unlike the seller's description of very good postcards. What creeped me out was that they were wrapped in an adult diaper! Unused, but nonetheless adult diapers -- the farthest thing in my mind that would be used as a product wrapper. I guess the seller cannot even afford to buy bubbles!

I don't know what the answer is either but something needs to be done. I purchaced an item and never recieved it. I reported it to ebay and the seller is no longer on ebay and I've not recieved my money back.

i just had my first bad experience about a week ago. talk about a total a**hole. i won the auction and i waited forever and ever to get my stuff in the mail. he said he mailed it "right away" but i checked the postmark and he waited more than 2 weeks after verified payment to send it off. after opening the box it the items were covered in dirt and dust, it was nasty. so i left him negative feedback, only stating the facts and this big baby ruined my 100 percent and left me negative feedback saying i was a liar and resorted to name calling like a child!

Unfortunately, this one guy got my money order, cashed it, and then had the audacity to say he didn't get it. Yes, it does seem they have gotten too big to handle just individuals. Wish I could help!!
