How do you feel about laboratory-grown meat?
I read an article that said some European researchers (can't remember which country) had successfully grown fish in a laboratory and they're working on pork, ground beef and chicken nuggets. The author of the article suggests that we may have no need for slaughterhouses in the future and may be able to put this part of our barbaric past behind us, as we did with slavery. How do you feel about this? For you die-hard carnivores, does the thought of eating laboratory-grown meat bother you? Vegetarians, would you start eating meat again if it didn't involve the slaughter of animals, or do you not even crave the taste of meat?
I forgot to say that with laboratory meat they could apparently get rid of risks such as salmonella, mad cow, e. coli and bird flu...does that make you feel any differently?

Its the same either way cells are cells meat is meat. but i think the labratory meat woul dbe diffrent cuz its never used or exersize and wouldnt grw in the same way as normal meat. I think it might have to act like a normal muscle to taste the same. Altho if it tastes the same its the Exact same thing so who cares?

I am not a die-hard carnivore but that just sounds all wrong, I would never eat meat that came from a laboratory. YUCK! I will stick to meat and meat products that is locally and organically grown. Luckily I can make that choice for meat and vegetables.

As a vegetarian the smell of meat makes me sick just being around it so no I wouldn't eat lab meat. Plus the idea of growing meat is just wrong, that's one of those things that seems like a great idea at the time, and then they realize a few years later that it causes all kinds of problems. It's just unnatural

Lab grown meat probable does no longer have the potential for say mad cow ailment. I eat meat besides, and prefer to imagine it comes instantly from the food market and not from a farm.

Is it the same people who fed the cows the stuff that gave them "mad cow." Man without these scientists in this world where would we be. I think when it comes to our food supply they'd better keep their hands off it as they're causing more harm than help. My opinion anyway.

Meh, meat is meat. As long as it tastes like normal meat, I'm cool with it.
