The OIL, man, that is the only reason we are over there, Bush uses terrorism to "scare" people in believing that's why we invaded, and when that didn't work he tried "liberation of an oppressed people".....well, there are many nations of oppressed people in Africa, suffering every day...do we go "liberate" them? No, they have no OIL.........

First of all...your information is inaccurate...there were traces of, even disassembled WMD's found in Iraq. Though the media covered that information up by making very short blurbs and not focusing attention on that fact. Secondly, The entire world intelligence community thought that just before the US and allied forces went to war with Iraq, that Iraq did have WMDs (so this was not the US only). Thirdly, Intelligence from around the world (though can't absolutely confirm it) believes that most of the WMDs which Iraq DID have, went to Syria only days before the war.
So now for the answer to your question...The reason that US and allied forces "invaded" Iraq was because Saddam was in clear violation of UN resolution 1441 (where Saddam was required to grant UN access to his country to provide proof that he didn't have WMDs, Saddam rejected the UN from being able to do this) that alone was enough reason to "invade" and take Saddam out of power. WMDs aside the US had every reason to knock that bastard out of power because of the war on terror. The US (if you recall) declared war on terrorists and any country/regime which harbored or helped terrorists and/or their activities. Iraq was in violation of this as well (completely confirmed and proven by all world entities) to have terrorist training camps, not only known to Saddam, but funded and ran by his son.
