Heatherdale69 asked a simple question about why blacks get special treatment, and it not be considered racism.

It took Yahoo exactly 14 minutes to remove it. Is affirmative action such a politically incorrect topic that we now have to be reverted to 1980's soviet standards and be censored from even discussing legitimate negative issues associated with the policy? Can someone not question the legitimacy of institutions like the NAACP, the BET, and the Traditionally Black Colleges and University System with the United ***** College Fund? Why are these things allowed when they would be ILLEGAL for the caucasian race to initiate the same?

Update:

This is posted at 1408 est. How long will it stand before some bleeding heart liberal communist has it removed?

Finally I'm not alone! I think it is kind of racist, actually it is racist. Just think about it. A whole television network worshiping white people? It would be an outrage! Many black people would call it white supremacy. Am I right? Its ok for blacks to go around shouting "Black Power!" but a white person would be in trouble if they said "White Power!". I think its wrong that another race gets special rights because they've been done extreamly wrong. Don't get it twisted I feel really angry about slavery and segregation. But I think its wrong that Black people get off with some stuff that obviously they shouldn't. Thats just what I think.

This was my answer for Heatherdale69.

First, they both can be viewed negatively. The confederate flag represented the 13 states that wanted to keep blacks in slavery. I am not going to go into the history of slavery b/c we know what happened. Malcolm X (civil rights leader) started his black power movement as getting equal opportunity any way necessary (including violence). However, later he recanted some of his past statements and was trying to help blacks getting equality in a more civilized manner. Black power does not equal an uprising or trying to take over the world. It used to uplift the black community to speak out against injustices. Try to overcome some things that affect the black community such AIDS, violence, and other concerns. Black power is having pride in the African American heritage: Knowing where you come from and where you are going. So the main thing: People need to stop being ignorant and learn about different cultures: African American, Hispanic, Asian, Italian, and all others. This will help to understand why certain groups feel the way they do.

In the past, American history was white history. Black history was created b/c it was not being taught in the schools. Thus, again black power = pride in the African American Heritage and Culture. In order, to know where you going you have to know where you have been. This is one reason why it was created.

We are all racist or prejudice at different points of our lives. If you are not racist or prejudice, you would not have to justify you are not racist by saying you like 1 black person.

All those were started b/c Blacks were not on tv, could not attend colleges/universities, etc. Most of those organizations you listed were started by Blacks b/c there were no other resources for African Americans.

No. Any time a cop shooter isn't killed by making use of the law enforcement officials i'm shocked, no matter what his race. law enforcement officials are warm-heads besides and in case you kill one in all them they are all going to be gunning for you. while that black dude killed those law enforcement officials in Cali, maximum black people (different than those in Oakland) knew he had it coming while SWAT blew his azz away. this concern has no bearing on the numerous situations law enforcement officials have shot unarmed black men for misdemeanor crimes at maximum. this is an entire different ingredient.
