What do people who live outside of Cincinnati think of Cincinnati?

I live in the Cincinnati area, and a recent study has shown that Cincinnati had the biggest decrease in population last year out of all major cities in the United States, slightly ahead of Detroit. This is not something to be proud of by any means, I don't think it's that bad of city, and was just wondering what other people thought. Thanks in advance for your input.

I am from Cleveland and I used to think HORRIBLE things about Cincinnati. Then I visited. Now, I really really like your city. The renovations along the river are beautiful. There is a lot of stuff to do! And my little brother is in school at UC.

People are just fleeing Ohio because we are a backwards conservative state with no jobs prospects and sinking school systems. It's not you!!

Over the Rhine. Not over the rind. And Cincy is no more violent than any big city. Media portrayal of race relations and crime is grossly exaggerated. There are highly impoverished areas where large amounts of people live together which statistically leads to higher crime rates. It's the same everywhere.

I am from the Cincinnati area (Erlanger KY.) I have been away from there for almost 10 years and I miss it terribly! I love everything up there especially Gold Star Chili, and Grater's Ice Cream! I wish that I was able to move back there, but I probably never will get the chance. (My husband won't move that far away from his family.) But the only reason why I would think that people are moving away is that it is growing so much so fast. Maybe people are wanting to live in a small town with the crime that we have now a days. Even though I never really thought that Cincy was so bad, it is nothing compared to Memphis or Detroit. But it may be too much for other people. Consider yourself lucky to be living in such a great place and beautiful city! I wish I could move back. I am terribly homesick!

I don't know much about it, I don't hear much about it at all.
