It is blasphemy to call another man, ´´His Holiness``. What do you think?

Unlike the disciples of Jesus, the pope often wears very elaborate garb and welcomes the adulation of humans. The pope allows people to bow to him, kiss his ring, and carry him on their shoulders in a special chair. What vanity popes have displayed over the centuries! A contrast indeed to the humble simplicity of Peter, who said to Cornelius, the Roman army officer who knelt at Peter’s feet to do obeisance to him: “Stand up, . . . I am only a man after all”! (Acts 10:25, 26, the Catholic Jerusalem Bible) And what a contrast to the angel who gave the apostle John the Revelation! John tried to bow down worshipfully to that angel, but the angel declared: “Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who are prophets and of those who are observing the words of this scroll. Worship God.”—Revelation 22:8, 9.

It is not really blasphemy. If idolatry is prohibited by god then the cross and the warshiping of the image of jesus on the cross is prohibited as well and so many christians do that. I dont think using the words his holiness is any more blasphemy as blindly following a man who is reading out of a book written by men about a man who lived and then died on the cross in which many of the stories are overly embellished

Yes, only God is HOLY and only Him can we put in High Distinction.

The Pope was, is, and shall never be put in the distiction as you might think though. We never said or teached that the Pope is to be put in the same distinction of God. The reason why we as Catholics address the Pope as to "HIs Holiness" is due to the fact that he is first in foremost chosen to be the one who should show humility and sacrifice. His servitude entitles him to be the first to admit that he is an IMPERFECT human being and given the great task of bearing witness to the faith as far as martyrdom (USQUE AD SANGUINEM)

In Christianity, idolatry is defined as worship of an image, idea or object, as opposed to the worship of a supreme being.

Kissing a ring wouldn't be worship --- it's like bowing like Asians do when they meet/depart.

No man is holy.....only God himself. There are none righteous, no not one. Our righteousness is like a filthy rag to God. None of us are holy and we shouldn't claim to be. So yes, it is blasphemy to call the pope (or anyone else) "Holiness."

I do , that is why the belief in the Pope is truly wrong he is not of equal authority to God, we as humans are all equal no matter what the churches of our time say.

the word holy can fit many situation .. check out the word holy they us the word in batman like holy batman-- eg; I adore you should that word not be use because we adore god. Your boyfriend or girlfriend may say I adore you..=== What about love it used freely I love you and yet many do not
