This is for all who deal with child support...who thinks the law to pay should have a higher penalty?
I have dealt with the child support in 3 counties in New York state and every time they slap the payee on the hand instead of correcting the problem to begin with. I now am faced with pulling it out of the support unit and dealing with it myself. The court order by a judge is just a simple piece of paper with no meaning. The support worker has even called the payee and gotten attitude. What is ur feedback?

I had to deal with the same crap here in Ky. My son and his friends came up with a good idea.Reinstate the draft-but only for deadbeat parents! Send their pay to support their kids. Not bad for a group of 18-21 year old males to have come up with!

I had zero problem getting my child support. I live in Oklahoma. All I did was go to the Child Support Division in the county that I lived in and filed on him. I had to pay $25.00 to get it started, that was pretty much to have him served. Then we went to court and he was order to pay the support at that time. They even made him get a job. He had to pay them and then they in turn paid me. He had to pay the back support and make the payments. At the end of it, there was also interest that was there and I got that money as well. I got every penny that was owed to me.
As for the higher penalty, you bet. This is the kids money we are talking about. Around here the only penalty is, you loose your license (any and all license that you have) and some times you go to jail. I don't care if it is the male or female that has to pay the support, it needs to be paid or else pay the ultimate price for not paying it.
