Ok, you have entered a very crowded marketplace, and you're competing against some of the biggest names in software - Microsoft, for example.

So... what's your USP? Why should they use your stuff? How are you different? What's your best prospect look like? How is he different from Microsoft's best prospect?

You really need a full marketing plan... do you have one?

Your software must have an advantage over other similar softwares could be pricing, support, features, scalability etc... Do a SWOT analysis. Some questions to ask - who are your target users? Small, medium or large companies? what type of industry can use yr software? In all of this, you need to consider yr competitors. Are they doing the same thing or targetting same type of companies?

You can consider hiring sales people based on basic salary plus commission or purely commisson. Ensure consistent sales presentation and the staff know the product well.

Consider other distribution channels e.g. IT consultancy companies which specialises in accounting and inventory control. Depending on your product, maybe freelance accountants as they can recommend to their clients.
