I've been a racing cyclist since 1982, have competed in all disciplines - road, track, cyclocross, mtb. Have worked in bike shops, helped dozens of friends buy bikes and become better riders.

  • ok, what happened to the Rangers Wednesday night?

I'm no expert on baseball, so help me out. How does a last place team suddenly start hitting dingers like that? It is just chance? Some kind of hypnosis? What happened?

  • do you care that your favorite players dope up?

Just wondering with all the Tour de France riders getting busted. Since football's performance-enhancing dope testing is a joke, does that means the fans just don't care that players are on 'roids and HGH and whatever else?

  • convert bookmarks / favorites to html or text?

I have a couple of folders of internet explorer bookmarks / favorites, and I'd like to post them to a web page so that others can view the text description and click thru on them. Is there a free / quick / simple way to do this?

  • Offline site downloader / browser - Firefox / IE ?

Is there a free toolbar / add-in for Firefox or IE that allows you to point at a domain and download the pages for later, offline reading? I just need the text in a readable format, don't need video or ads or web2 type apps.

Please provide a linky or good pointer. Thanks

  • What's the weirdest thing ever happened to you on a ride?

In homage to the prev. q about things being thrown... what other weirdness has happened to you? I'll start: I've come across couples "doing it" (multiple, separate occasions); I've seen a rider fall over, hitting his handlebars on the ground, bounce up and keep riding; I've seen tornadoes; I've had a squirrel run THROUGH my front wheel while I was going about 15 mph; been hit by bird poop; saw a guy hit the back of a car headfirst at 30mph (no helmet) and come away with only bruises; saw a guy in a race who hooked his front spokes on the rear QR of the guy in front, who proceeded to drag him 100 meters up the hill before they both fell over. You?

  • Ok, who's it gonna be... TDF 2007?

C'mon... waiting til July to pick is for noobs. Lay your cards down now.

My prediction: JENS VOIGHT will win the 2007 Tour de France.

Bookmark this page... you'll need to read it again on July 29th to prove you weren't dreaming that some guy on the internet got it right, way back in March...

  • Email text to be posted on a web page? How to...?

I get regular emails that contain the results of a report. Is there a way that I can send these emails to be auto-posted to a web page? I have a hosting account and ftp rights etc.

The idea being, every night when the report gets sent to my email, it also gets posted directly to my private web page.

    thanks

  • I've heard you can get free travel by arranging a group. How?

Some friends and I would like to arrange a group trip to Europe. I've heard that there are companies that will give you free travel if you get enough people to sign up for the trip. How do I find these companies? Or is it just a matter of negotiating deals on my own?

Links to "how-to" websites and book titles are appreciated...

    thanks

  • what's your favorite "wake-up" song?

The Beatles "I feel fine" works for me, but I'm looking for ideas to put together a cd of songs to wake up to. I also have Springsteen "Born to Run", Elvis "a little less conversation," (the modern remix disco version), and "Get Up" by James Brown.

  • Options for online file storage?

I need a central place to store files, and I'm thinking online could be handy. I own several domains (hosted) with plenty of space, and ftp accounts. I also have several pc's, some at home, some I travel with. But ftp can be a hassle sometimes. I know there are some free services.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to permanently map a virtual internet drive and just connect whenever I have a fast enough connection.

What are some other options for online storage?
