The 80's or 90's, which had the better music?

I believe the 80's had far better music than the 90's. Even though I was born in 1980... I listern to 80's music more than 90's music or even today's music.

    The 80's!!!

The older the music the better it was. Music meant something back then. You could understand the lyrics and feel them.

Newer music is about the beats & the dances.

The 80s, definitely. The 80s music was more fun than the 90s.

I was born in '83...I LOVE 80s music AND 90s music, and I don't mean to be cliche here, but I truly believe 90s music defines me. Scratch that - I should say it affected me the most. My favorite bands are the Gin Blossoms, Barenaked Ladies, Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, Third Eye Blind, Matchbox 20 and Hootie and the Blowfish. Luckily most of these bands are still making music and touring, so I'm in heaven. I definitely have some 80s faves - Duran Duran, Journey, Bon Jovi and Eddie Money and they're still making music and/or touring...their music just didn't have the same effect on me. Maybe b/c I was only 7 when the 80s ended and the 90s were my most impressionable formative years, but I definitely consider myself more a child of the 90s.

    90's!

I wont deny that some good music did come out of the 80's, but alot of it is just really annoying. The stuff I like from the 80s really wasnt "big" or "top 40" then, but the underground classics that paved the way for a lot of music that would come over the next 2 decades.

even now, I listen to more 90's alternative music than I do todays music.

I think 80s music was more fun oriented, but the 90s produced some great bands! It's hard to say which I think is better. I like them both for so many reasons... I might go with 80s if I really had to choose.

    80's.

Look at the biggest stars of the 80's: Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran, The Clash, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Prince, Run DMC, LL Cool J, etc...

The 80's produced some of the biggest names in music history.
