Do you get sunburned faster when you are at a high elevation?

For instance, if you are hiking in the mountains at about 5,000 feet.

    You can b/c there is less atmosphere between you and the sun.

    You not only burn faster, but you burn deeper too. At elevations above 2000 feet, you need to be wearing sunscreen and a hat and protective clothing.

    No i live in a mountaines area and the city will burn you faster and they are way below me as far as alltitude levels.

    The air is thinner so it makes sense. Although, I do not actually know for sure
