In light of current events, did U.S. set a precedence when it invaded Iraq?
United States invaded Iraq for the purpose bringing down a regime supportive of terrorism around the world. And innocent lives were sacrificed as a result and the situation in Iraq does not seem to have any immediate or viable solution.
Fast forward today, Israel invades Lebanon with the goal of wiping out a terrorist group supported by the Lebanese government and begins bombing of Beirut. I am finding the similarities of these events somewhat haunting.
Is this the New World Order? A war without borders? Are these logical responses to acts of terrorism? If not then what are the alternatives?
Innocent lives = People who got bombed by military airplanes. Civilians who got killed by American soldiers (collateral damage). Americans who died in the Twin Towers on 9/11 and civilians who were kidnapped and executed afterwards. Innocent lives on both parts. Regardless of the risks they took either by being in a war zone and not evacuating.

The precedant goes way farther than Iraq. Consider the removal of the Taliban from Afganistan. We're still over there (but you don't hear about it on the news because it isn't sexy and oily). It goes farther back than that. Bosnia, WW2, etc. etc. etc. it is the responsibility of those with the ability and resources to save those who don't have it. The end result is left up to history to decide. In some cases it works out for good (WW2). In others its not so good Bosnia. Still others are left to be decided (Iraq for instance)

This shows us clearly the hypocrisy of Americans. China incorporates Tibet as part of China and Americans raise a big fuss. Then Americans invade Iraq and Afghanistan and there is nary a whisper from those same people like Richard Gere et al. Where are these hypocrites now? Why aren't they protesting the American and Israeli incursions?

Israel has always acted this way in response to attacks. You should get a better background in history. Most wars are preemptive-you want to get them before they get you (Dec 7 1941). The Israelis are at a disadvantage however, they are completely surrounded and severly outnumbered by their enemies. They are worried that at the first sign of weakness their enemies (Iran,Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia etc) will take that opportunity to pounce. That is why the Israelis are swift and decisive.

nicely, a popular protection stress makes use of a /lot/ of petroleum products, somewhat in an invasion, so i'm useful it replace right into a important challenge. Any income reaped with the aid of oil agencies from contracts in Iraq would be miniscule whilst in comparison with the expenses of the conflict. the actual place oil performs is as a strategic source. u.s. has no determination yet to maintain a powerful protection stress presence interior the middle east, to gaurantee it is furnish of oil. because of the fact, without that furnish, it is protection stress could desire to could be frequently undercut. previous to the 2nd Iraq conflict, that presence lined Saudi Arabia. it is been moved to Iraq.

There is nothing logical about senseless killing. This is for either side. The alternative is to accept differences in opinions and try to understand them.
