Humans do go "in heat". However, women and men produce pheromones when they are aroused and attracted to another person. Some people who are observant can pick up on these scents.

I'm sure we have some hormonal reactions but just aren't able to key into them. When a woman is in "heat" I'm sure that stimulates our hormones and I'm sure we smell more to scare off other males and let them know we are present.

Smell maybe or not they all say its down to pheromones which is a smell but it is so subtle you couldn't describe it
