Try dabbing a little bit of clove oil on it to help ease the pain. Tea tree oil is also effective in speeding up the healing process. I also read that eating yogurt with live lactobacillus cultures helps prevent outbreaks of canker sores. Hope this helps.

I've tried everything for canker sores. The best thing I've come up with is rinsing with Listerine. It burns REAL bad, but I've gotten rid of bad canker sore in less than a week by rinsing day and night.

Use 1 black tea bag OR
1 green tea bag
Soak tea bag in hot water for about 1-2 minutes. Squeeze excess water from bag and insert in mouth while hot/warm so it presses against the sore, leaving it there for about 5 minutes. This may be repeated with a fresh tea bag several times daily until the sore heals.

L-lysine. Take it daily. I forget sometimes, but when I get them, I take the vitamin for 3 days and poof gone and if you take it everyday as a regular vitamin, no more canker sores. It's a vitamin deficiency to begin with that causes this. You can buy it where regular vitamins are sold. Your pharmist will find it for you if you can't.

I use hydrogen peroxide. DON'T SWALLOW!!!! It is not for internal consumption. It burns like a mother but it seems to get rid of my canker sores sooner.
