Why is there a religion and spirituality category?

Shouldn't it be with mythology and folklore? It's all the same thing.

I think they're separate, and actually I wish they were truly separate. One for religion, the other for spirituality. That way I could just ask & answer in spirituality.

In theory it should be grouped in the same category.

However if you did group them all together in one category in the society that we have today it would be an outrage. You would have people trying to bring yahoo down because of it.

Because we learn about Folklore and Mythology in school as something of the people of another place and another time... we consider what we know today as religion and spirituality.

Society does not see that what it practices as religion today is in fact the same thing that we now call mythology and folklore.

I am fine with it being in different category. I do think you are right though by questioning the validity of it all.

You said it's all the same thing, now is that fact or your own personal opinion? Sorry, but they don't do categories based on your personal opinion. Just because you think its a myth doesn't mean everyone does. So, they have a seperate category for those of us that do believe.

To answer your question, there is a religion and spirituality category because there are those of us that believe in that. It shouldn't be in with the mythology and folklore because to some of us it is real. I guess we'll see in the end, huh? I know where I'll be.

no mythology and folklore is not the same thing as religion. Even if you don't agree; for many of us, our religion and our beliefs are very real. I believe there is also a mythology and folklore category.

To you it may be indistinguishable but individuals who are acquainted with religion recognize the difference and would not post a question about religion in the mythology and folklore section. Enlighten yourself by reading and studying to find the truth and maybe you will come to a genuine understanding.

Why are most of you obviously very young and nieve people, possible school age, so out of touch with God? Religion and folklore are not the same thing, and neither is mythology. Mythology is the study of myths. God is not a myth.

Thoroughbred horses are the same as unicorns, according to your reasoning. Spirituality and religion are real in the same sense that governments are real. You cannot touch "government" (although some would argue that you can often smell it!). Mythology and folklore are types of stories. May God bless and keep you.

because people consider their religion to be true and not a myth so by grouping someones religious and spiritual beliefs as mythology or folklore is a disrespect and ignorant thing to say

also mythology is usually considered things like zeus and the gods not god and jesus

To YOU it may be mythology, to ME it is a daily aspect of my living, So just because you choose not to agree with something...

That means it is not legitimate...?

Get out of your mommy and daddies house, get a job, and see how much more you believe.

    OR better yet

Have a close personal friend die, have them brought back on the table after more than 5 minutes and then have them tell you what they saw!

No, they are not the same thing. I will pray for you to see the light. I know you probably don't want to here this, but Jesus loves you. He died so that you might live. He is real. And I also know you are probably bad mouthing me right now for this answer, but you know what, that's OK, because I Love you too. That's the good thing about Christianity. A true christian loves you no matter what you believe in. God Bless You.
