Can you give an example of someone gay trying to make another straight person gay?

I'm a gay man and 23 years old. I went to one of the most liberal universities in the country. The population of gay people at IU is extraordinarily disproportionate to the rest of the country and Bloomington remains one of the highest per-capita gay populations in the world.

I've known gay people all my life, I have lots of gay friends. I have lots of straight friends. Growing up with so many gay people around, you'd think I would have seen one try to "turn" a straight person gay. I never did.

It's bollucks! I mean, why would we try to "recruit" people to our lifestyle? I've got straight friends, and I wouldn't want them any other way. Sure, I've had crushes on straight guys before. I've never told them, I've never tried to "recruit" them, and I think it's absurd for anyone to say that.

Remember, Christians - we don't think it's a choice. Wouldn't it be quite the dichotomy for us to try to "convert"? I welcome specific instances that you have seen this happen! List away!

I got my question from the current last poster, LARRY S, on this post:

I'm not gay, but I am very pro-gay rights and have many gay friends. Like you, I've never seen a gay person try to "convert" anyone else. Even when a lesbian friend of mine admitted she had a crush on me, she said "But I don't want you to try and like me back. You wouldn't be you then."

I find some of the things people say to be devestating and I'm straight!!! If its any consolation they say I'm going to hell too because I don't believe in Jesus. I guess it was naive of me to assume that most people are really accepting, and its just a few crazies that are so evil. There are so many people just filled with absolute hate, its horrifying.

If Jesus taught to love everone and do unto others as you would have them do unto you, a lot of people don't act very Christ-like.

It's just another lie told by fundies to scare people. I really feel for the gay community, next to racism it's the most pathetic display of closed mindedness I have ever seen. Bigots makes me sick.

Converting straight people into gay? Even without the beers there's not really a difference, is it?

My cousin-in-law is a gay man and he gets straight men drunk. He's not passing them out and raping them, but you know when you have had too much to drink you are down for anything. That's his trick.

My gay friends that are single and looking are looking for gay partners.

For some, it is easier to be ignorant than educated.
