Why does the world think the US can solve the Israel/Palestine conflict?
Their war has been going on for thousands of years. Why is the world calling on the US to step in and declare a cease fire? Why do we need to send Condi Rice or any one else over there?
It's really not the US being the bully this time. The world is demanding we declare a cease fire. Why? Why is it up to us to declare anything?

First of all it has not been going on for thousands of years, Israel was declared in 1948 and that's when the trouble began... Israel is being supplied with weapons and technology from the US, and getting 4 billion $ every year in aid, that's why US has leverage on Israel on one side, they have also the presence and military power and money to force the other side as well, they need to sit down and resolve their problems like Sadat of Egypt, Begin of Israel did in 1977 under the US umbrella in the Carter presidency.

I think that many people around the world, whether they hate the US or like it, recognize the power the US has. They also know that the US has set itself up as a world policeman, so when we say something most countries listen, or at least obey.
In the current case, the US has openly sided with Israel against the Hezbollah. I happen to support this position. In the past, the US has stopped Israel several times, including the last time it invaded Lebanon and we stopped Israel from holding Beirut and got them to pull back. The US did this through its strong diplomatic ties with Israel, which include how much foreign aid we will continue to give them.
Based on history, the US could ask Israel to stop, and Israel would probably listen, at least up to a certain point. This is why they want us to demand a cease fire.
Unfortunately, as in other cases in the Mideast, the US and some of our allies see things differently. Since the Sep. 11 attacks on the Trade Towers, the US is much less likely to allow terrorism to continue and we see Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. We basically are agreeing with Israel that Hezbollah needs to be rendered incapable of any further attacks for any cease fire to work. We will not ask for a cease fire until this happens.

King Bush wants to make a good impression on the world and by sending his own private slave, Condi Rice there he believes that his ratings will somehow improve.
As for the world thinking the U.S. can solve the Israel/Palestine war, not a conflict, it's only King Bush and his slave Rice who think that we can solve that crap.
If this is what the world really thinks then they had better wake up and smell the coffee because there is no way in hell that anyone can solve that crap in this life time anyway. And why would anyone want to step in and risk the chance of being murdered when this is the life that they enjoy anyway.
They have been murdering their own people and others for more years then any of them can even remember and it's their way of life so everyone should just butt out and let them continue having their fun.
Anyway, how can the U.S. help any other country when we are involved in a war already that King Bush started just to please his BIG daddy. In order to end any war you have to send the King there to see for himself just what it's like to be shot at and hurt too and hopefully he will open his eyes to see the terror that he has started.

As the answer above put it, we as Americans are not the king of the world. We are just treated as such. When an other country has an issue 2 things normally happen.
1) America gets involved and the rest of the world calls us imperialists.
2) America does not get involved and the rest of the world calls us isolationist.
So as you can see, as far as our friends in the French government and most of the EU government are concerned we can as Americans do no right.
We as Americans go all over the place with money and troops. Why you may be asking. Well often times we are invited, some times we go in as a greater coalition of nations and other times we feel that we must defend freedom of friends, allies or Chomsky forbid, ourselves.
Right now most of the world is looking to America to intercede on their behalf in Israel. Why again, we as Americans are the only other country that has backed them, for better or for worse we feel that our future and the future of Israel are intertwined. We both have democracy. We are both fiercely independent and above all tolerant. But don’t take my word for it, ask one of the more than 2 million Arabs who live there and are proud to be Israelis. Most of the other nations of the world that have any sort of clout are never willing to stand up for anyone else. And why should they when they have America around to keep the peace.
I personally think that now is the time to support Israel. Now is the time to give them arms and money. Now is the time to let them root out terror in their neck of the woods.
The war on terror affects everyone, like it or not. Terrorists don’t care if you are Republican or Democrat, if you are black or white, if you’re Jewish or Christian. Hell they don’t care if you are Muslim; you must be the right kind of Muslim.
What is happening in Israel is a simple question.
What do you do to a country that harbors terrorists?

Unfortunately, the US comes into play because the US is the only country with enough firepower to take on the situation. When they say they need the UN to go do something they really mean the US. Of coarse if or when it does happen the rest of the world will jump up and down and scream that the US is imposing it's will on the rest of the world again. I wish one time we could tell the UN that we are sitting this one out...see what the rest of the world can do without us.

People of the world condemn the people in the USA til they get a conflict they cannot handle on their own. This is why they call on the USA, please handle this for us for we have no idea how. You step in and handle this for us and then we will accuse you if something happens while we remain the good guys. You people take the heat for our indecision. The US has said stop shelling towns but I think that Israel is a sovereign nation. They have been provoked for more than one reason to attack the Hezbollah.

every one knows that isreal is doing bad there in palistine and lebanon ... and america is fully suporting israel .. its not fair to attack on the freedom of the other country for just few damn reasons .. and america have a great position over the world so if america stop suporting israel this issue could be solved

the US thinks its the ruler of everything and they think they can solve other people's problems by stepping in. well guess what? theyre not the ruler of the world and they cant solve other country's problems...when they throw their troops into another country, that just adds to the mess and prolongs everything. the US needs to step off.

The world doesn't think that US can solve this problem. It seems that you guys, out there in the US, have brainwash propaganda on a daily basis :):)
