It's a type of walk - when a person swaggers, it usually means that they are walking in a way that makes them look overly assured and often pompous.

Watch an old John Wayne movie. That walk he has when he walks into the saloon. It's not just the walk though, it's the presence it commands. The walk says, don't f*** with me. That's a swagger.

I guess the best way to put it is that it is a kind of slow, arrogant walk, sort of like, "I'm in charge and takin' my time."
It's really an older, casual word mostly used of cowboys in the olden days.

Its a certain type of walk. Nowadays people think of John Wayne when describing it. m
