A question about thunderstorms in cartoons...?

Why is it that in cartoons, thunder and lightning happen at the same time? Not just in cartoons, either...live-action movies sometimes do this too. Does this create more drama? I've experienced plenty of thunderstorms, and I've found that lightning and accompanying thunder RARELY happens at the same time.

Thanks!

well lighning and thunder only happen at the same time when it is really close, so i guess in cartoons the storm is always near by, or the sound effects guys are too lazy to count a few second after the lightning to put in the thunder just when they see the flash they put it in

  • I'll never see a thunderstorm in a cartoon the same again thanks to that post lol. Inspired!
