Why is my Internet Explorer 5.1 doesn't work anymore, when it's freezes and fails to load the browser?
This happened to me three weeks ago. Apple, since I have an Imac, tried to figure it out for the past week-and-a-half, two weeks ago. Nothing worked: not by deleting stuff, screenshots, downloading a newer one. I gave up last week. Looking forward to getting the Macbook next month.

IF you can get to control panel open it and find add remove programs. Find internet explorer and hit delete progam. Window will pop up that give you some choices of what you want to do. Pick repair program and see if the repair works with it.
If this does not work then open all programs from the Start and look for Accessories, In here look for system tools click on System restore there and restore back to day when it worked ok.

They aren't making new Internet Explorers for the Mac anymore. I am having the same problem at work, we only have OS 9.2 and the only browser I can use is 5.1 I just force quit and try again. When you get your macbook you should use Safari, just about everything that you do on Internet explorer can be done in Safari and it works very very nicely.
It is just a problem because this old software doesn't communicate very well with the new software, and locks things up. I wish I could help you, but I can't even help myself.
