Why can't people respect their presidents?

Why can't people respect their preseidents ? Especially for Bush and Blair. I see so many remarks and jokes made about them, its such a shame. They are the leaders of your countries, working hard day and night to protect the country in the best way they think it is. I am sure they have so many tough decisions to make every single minute, but the public just knows how to point their fingers with critisicm. Its such a shame. Look even the middle eastern war torn countries are so supportive of their leaders. In asia, they respect the leaders, we don't see them going around posting monkey faces of them on the internet. I am just so shocked to see all these and its such a shame.

...I can understand people not agreeing with what they're doing...but the stupid jokes and whatnot aren't neccessary...i would like to see all those people making the jokes try to run this country for a day...well, on second thought...maybe that'd be a bad idea

Being a leader always makes you a target. Those who feel inferior will always make jokes about those on top. But who has the last laugh. Bush and Blair are the most powerful people on earth. Do they care what some moron on the Internet says?

    I doubt it.

Because Bush as well as Blair deceive the public in order to improve their sagging approval ratings. They lie deliberately to the public who allegedly elected them. The contempt they hold for the citizens they are supposed to serve and protect borders the criminal.

Neither man is fit nor deserving of their posts.

How can u respect someone who forced their way into office? Then, on top of that he wants to force our type of gov't on to other countries. When Bush puts an M-16 in his hand and is on the front line in Iraq then I'll respect him.

Respect has to be earned. Its not a God-given right. Thats what makes a democracy. We can speak up if we are not satisfied. And the politicians have to feel the pulse of their people.

You don't see asians posting monkey faces of their leaders on the internet because they'll go to jail if they get caught. Respect has nothing to do with it.

wonder,if ppl like u,respect Ur parents.for being talking so highly abt "authorities"respect starts from RESPECTING UR PARENTS AND URSELF FIRST!besides as a reader has said here and he said it right.respect are "deserved"that gained easily.,maybe ur Asians.are just too scared of authorities.sort of "Muppet of societies" too scared to make changes in the west in the other.hands.ppl are raised to "speak"up their minds and make changes.its all about "democracry"capici?respect.thyself,Ur parents and god first.the rest is secondary.besides we can SELF REGULATE ONESELF.UNLESS U AIN'T GOT A MIND TO THINK.AND NEED "AUTHORITIES"TO MAKE THOSE DECISIONS FOR YA..WELL..........TOOOO BAD.
