Does breathing Inn & breathing out while exercising makes a lot of difference in efficiency of exercises?

I work out regularly, but recently new trainer of the gym told me breathing in and breathing out while exercising makes a hell lot of difference in after effects of EXERCISES. Does it or does nt it?and whtz could be the reason?

    well, it is important to always breath in and out *giggles*

    but the reason for good breathing is that it helps to get oxygen to your muscles and organs, and that helps your body to work more efficiently and helps to prevent injury.

    When you exercise you use a lot more oxygen, and that is why people pant., but panting is not actually as good for getting a lot of oxygen into your bloodstream, and can actually cause hyperventilation. The best way is it breath in through the nose-out through the mouth. Take deep breaths and hold them for a second or two. It also helps you to remain calm and steady.

    Don't know about regular exercise, but for runners, they say it makes a difference. There's a rhythm to breathing and a rhythm to running, and they have a tendency to fall into synch with each other. Trouble is, if you breathe too fast it's not good for your run, and if you breathe too slow it's not good either. Most runners who are keeping up a good pace fall into what's called a 2-2 rhythm, that is, they breathe in, take two strides, then breathe out and take two strides, etc. They also say that if that seems unnatural, change the pace of your run to fit the pace of your breathing, not the other way around.

    Check out Jack Daniels (yes, that really is his name) book on Running -- it's a bit technical but it's the bible of running.

    recently a doctor was asked a similar question on a tv program i was watching and he said your normal breathing patters bring you enough oxygen unless you have some sort of physical problem, now it might help calm you, it might help time your exercises, but to actually make some difference in how the exercise works on your body, i dont think so.

    Yes, this is very important. Breathing in and out while performing any exercise is going to get more oxygen to your muscles. Without oxygen, your muscles can't do what your wanting them to do, therefore making your exercises pretty useless.

    Yes it does and the trainer should have told you what difference it makes. It has to do, I think, with getting oxygen into your system as you are exercising. Ask the trainer to be more specific and show you what to do.

    Breathe in through your mouth and in through your nose. W

    With weightlifting - during exertion breathe out and then in.

    yes, the muscles need oxygen in order to work more efficiently, so the answer to your question is yes, it will also help to prevent muscle cramps/spasms.

    well I know that if you quit breathing.. you will die.. so yeah.. I think it helps..
