When the poles switch in 2012 will the North pole be in Brazil??
I read this somewhere, just trying to figure out where I should be...
If you don't know, find out...
I've read about it in alot of places.
It is part of the Mayan calendar. They haven't been wrong about an astrological occurrence (i.e. predicton of an eclipse) ever. And that time is marked on their calendar as the end of the earth. Its the end of the calendar.
Also if you look it up in the Bible code, 2012 is the year of destruction for the earth.

Poles won't switch in 2012, or anytime in the lives of anyone alive now.
But, just in case, I'd be under the bed.

The Maya did not predict a pole shift for 2012.
When it does shift, no one knows where the poles will end up or if they will just switch polarities (what they usually do--we are something like 100,000 years overdue for that--read the book Pole Shift).
A pole shift has nothing to do with an eclipse nor have I heard of one around that time.
The Maya Long Count Calendar doesn't end in 2012. The 12th baktun ends. That's like our calendar going from 1999 to 2000. 12-21-2012 is the first day of the 13th Baktun.
Also on 12-21-2012 (the winter solstice) there is a once in 26,000 year alignment between the sun and the Milky Way at dawn. The Maya saw this alignment as the re-birth of the sun and the beginning of a new age.
This doesn't mean the old age ends that day. In fact it's already over and has been for 10-20 years.

I am afraid it is going to be more like: 4006 or so!
"However most of the Earth does not have a full magnetic field. Scientists tell us that as a normal process the Earth's poles reverse approximately every 5,000 years. This could explain the loss of a lot of dinosaur. As we move to this polarity switch, in about 2,000 years, the Earth's magnetic field is lessening. With a decreased field the body is not always able to make all the changes it should and it makes it unable to successfully protect itself. An interesting note is that there are only four places left on Earth with full magnetic fields. Two habitable and two not. The not are the North Pole and the South Pole. The habitable are Sedona, Arizona and Lourdes, France - both known for healthy living and healing. They can be thought of as East and West Poles."
"The orientation of magnetic fields of planets can flip over, an event which is called a geomagnetic reversal. The Earth's poles have done this repeatedly throughout history, and 500,000 years ago, the south magnetic pole was at the South Pole. It is thought that this occurs when the circulation of liquid nickel/iron in the Earth's outer core is disrupted and then reestablishes itself in the opposite direction. It is not known what causes these disruptions. Proof of this can be seen at mid-ocean ridges where tectonic plates move apart, and the sea bed is filled in with magma. As the magma comes out of the mantle, the magnetic particles in it are attracted slightly to the North Pole, and when the poles switch, so does the direction in which the metallic elements face. Therefore, on the sea bed, parallel bands of alternating magnetic fields are found."

First of all, there is no particular reason to think they will switch anytime soon. Second, it's not going to flip only 90 degrees; it would be 180, north for south.
As for 2012, that's the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar. I expect I shall be here where I am now, more or less, working on what needs fixing while some more clowns go out and signal the mother ship for a pickup.

I think you are correct that the shift will occur in 2012, or thereabout.
I doubt that the North pole will be in Brazil however. That would be far to radical of a change.
Everybody, not you, talks like they are the expert. And we trust them to tell the truth. But the more you learn, and the more differing views you get, you learn to not accept everything you are told.

What makes you think it will be 2012? The next solar maximum is just after 2012, do you know about this phenomena? No, the north pole will not be in Brazil. And if it doesnt shift then what?

No, there is no indication that it will, quite as this manner of pole change takes thousands of years. faster or later the poles will change, yet we will not tell while and it ought to take thousands of three hundred and sixty 5 days. do no longer place self assurance in Graham Hancock - his recommendations are in fact crackpot theories meant to sell his books. he's no longer taken heavily by the scientific community.

When the polarity of the magnetic poles switch it takes a few tens of thousands of years to complete the process. It won't happen in a single year.

This will be triggered by the lizard people who live deep inside of the earth. They will do this, which will cause panic on our surface world, just prior to their invasion. The grey 'aliens' are actually their genetically engineered servants and they will unleash massive forces against the nations of the Earth.

No, the polarity of the poles is predicted to switch at some point in time. The land doesn't move.
