What is the difference between a CAT scan and a CT scan?

No jokes, please. I just need the answer.

    Nothing it is the same thing. Years ago when it first came out they called it a CAT scan but people were asking the stupidist questions and concerned it had something to do with cats. DUH! So now they call it a CT scan to avoid all the problems. Same thing.

    CAT scans and CT scans are the same thing. CAT stands for Computerized Axial Tomography, and it was the term used early on. Now, these scans are usually referred to as just CT scans. It is like calling a Corvette a Vette or calling a Mercedes a Benz....same thing.
